Last Friday we went planting daffodil bulbs. First we walked from school down to Rāwhiti Domain. When we go there we found the man who was going to help us. He told us about plants and planting. A woman was waiting to talk to us about the project. She told us who they were and how to plant the daffodils.
We found some tools (shovels, trowels and bulb planters). It was good fun using the bulb planters because they were like pogo sticks! We planted lots of bulbs and I also planted a few Bluebells as well.
We were so tired out after too! We are all looking forward to seeing the flowers when spring comes. We had lots of fun! By Rosie

Inquiry Week One - Playing with Design!
Ata Mārie Whanau!
We hope you have all enjoyed our first week of Term Two and are making the most of your weekend.
This week we started our new Inquiry, our focus is Science and Technology. Playing with Design! is with me (Jordan), and over the two sessions that kids are with me they get to explore some of the technology design process. This involved thinking about what makes us want to buy toys and what things interest us, once we have done some research we get our challenge; to identify a target market and design a product that meets the needs or interests of that target.
In groups we decided what our target market is; that is who we want to buy our product e.g. 8 year old boys, and what our theme would be so that our target market wants to buy our product. Our product is a packet of bubble mixture and we had to design a label for the bottle, the box it came in, bubble wands and if we had time we started making advertising.
Below are photos of everyone's completed packaging.
Tēnā koutou e te ihu oneone! You all worked so hard to complete the challenge. Great job everyone!
